The Star Greene King Pub & Carvery

The carvery at the Star is one of the best I’ve been too in a while, lots of veg and different potatoes, different meats to choose from! Everything cooked with perfection! Staff are friendly and helpful! They’ve even got a normal pub menu, which I’ll have to try next time I visit, which I can tell you will be soon!

Cheap pub food 2 meals for £9.00, which the landlord admits are microwaved. The only freshly cooked meals are the gammon & fish which are not in the £9.00 offer. The deserts are reasonable & a good size.The place can get busy & then service is slow. The place could do with a serious make over.The landlord's a real character which makes up for it!

The Star is your typical 2 for 1 eating establishment. It gets very busy, the service isn't really the best and you end up waiting a while for it to come out, and even then theres a good chance it's not quite right. The menu is pretty basic with the usual steaks, burgers, scampi et al all being present. Don't get me wrong though, the servings are nice and hearty and the desserts are lovely too. If you are the kind of person who likes somewhere a bit quiet and food which is a step up from basic then this might not be up your street, but if you are the kind of person who wants a lot of bang for your buck and doesn't mind waiting and the place being busy then Bob's your uncle! The prices are very reasonable too and won't break the bank so this place is ideal for families who want to eat on a budget.

Pity the friendly landlord who runs this place.Food is 2-4-1, so cheap.This sums up the whole place.Vegetarian food choices are limited.Staff are mainly teenagers and surly.The place needs a complete refurb,soon.
