Full Menu, Specials & Snack menu. Gluten & Dairy Free Menus. All food cooked & locally sourced where possible, by our chef's. Sunday Food served all day. Smiley & friendly staff.

The Stag's Head is a Traditional 319 year old Coaching Inn, stone walls and Beamed Restaurant. We pride ourselves in using local suppliers and preparing all our meals on the premises. We serve food 12-2pm & 6.30-9.00 Monday To Thursday, Friday & Saturday Evenings till 9.30 and Sunday from 12-8pm. This includes our Full Menu plus 4 Roasts of the Day.

We have a Lounge, Cellar Bar/Restaurant and separate Restaurant. We have a Back bar which has a big screen Television, Pool Table and access to our Heated smoking Area and enclosed Garden.

We cater for all occasions from small gatherings to buffets for hundreds. We also cater Weddings, BBQ, Christenings, Funerals, Birthdays,& Business Meetings.

We are big Fundraisers, particularly for Macmillan Cancer Support and hold a monthly quiz where all funds raise go to our cause, we have raised for Macmillan alone £66,153 to date.

Our Cellar Bar/Restaurant transforms in to a perfect dance floor for Parties with a disco.
Perfect for evening wedding celebrations, wakes, office get togethers, retirement parties & more.
Perfect for social gatherings, meetings & more. Large flat screen TV for presentations, Pool Table (able to move) and through to pretty garden, so perfect for BBQs.
This means our real ales have been tried & tested by the Cask Marque independent Inspectors. At the moment we have Black Sheep (3.8%) and our very own Stags Head Ale (4.1%) brewed for us by Caledonian.
So far over the years, The Stags Head have raised an amazing £65,000+ for MacMillan alone with various auctions, raffles, charity events & a regular quiz usually held on the first Monday of the month (but please call to check) We have also supported various other charities close to our heart.

Poor.

Poor service. Apple crumble served Cold. Two dishes ordered without beans and contained beans. My main came with no sides and waiting staff didn't say anything. Staff not once asked how our meals was because they knew it was below standard. No arrangements made to seat 16 people together despite the meal being pre booked. This was my grandad 80th birthday meal so was a very special occasion and feel extremely angry that we was treated with such poor service. And for the money that was paid... trading standards should be involved.

Lovely pub

Everything you want in a quiet country pub. Lovely grub, lovely ales, lovely spot.

We went there on Saturday 7th January 2017 for a family meal at 2.30. 3 of us had the Stag burger and it was awful, chewy like rubber and no salad inside! We told the staff how bad the burgers were and we were offered 3 free desserts which to be fair were nice. However the burger gave me an upset stomach for the rest of the day/night! They are not cheap so we would have expected them to be much better! Debbie M.

Service good, food arrived quickly and hot. Fish and chips were overcooked and too crispy and oily...not nice at all. I was offered more chips but declined the offer. They should not have sent these out in the first place! And at a price of £9.95! thought it was a real disappointment :-(

Well worth a visit!

We recently held our daughter's wedding reception at the Stag's Head and were delighted with all aspects of it. They were so helpful in making the arrangements and on the day itself. The wedding breakfast was beautiful. The disco and evening buffet were also very good. Everyone said how much they had enjoyed it.

Just Perfect

Had a Birthday Celebration recently for 30, and expected there to be some delay because of the number of people, but the food & service from some very smiley staff was excellent. Busy Lizzie Flowers are a picture and all the Party enjoyed and will return.
