A traditional Country Inn found in the heart of the New Forest, 200 yards away stands the historic Rufus Stone.
This traditional Country Inn is set in the heart of the New Forest. 200 yards away stands the Rufus Stone, marking the spot where King William II died, accidentally killed by Sir Walter Tyrrell.
A picturesque pub with spectacular views of the New Forest (which can normally only be seen on postcards), we have numerous seating areas both inside and out, with real log fires for those winter months. The pub has a fantastic garden which backs onto a paddock with ponies and donkeys. We boast the best adventure playground in the Forest with slides, walkways and climbing frames; themed on Walter Tyrrell and the hunting scene of 1100AD.
The Sir Walter Tyrrell caters for the whole family, with a menu choice for the very young through to teenagers, for hungry adults to those with smaller appetites. Food is served throughout the whole pub, with areas suited to that quiet meal or that occasion with larger numbers.
