The Secret Shed

After saving for a SummerCabin for the garden creating more room for a growing family I engaged in business with The Secret Shed-Rhiwbina Sheds and Fencing (same owner) A MASSIVE MISTAKE! After paying a hefty deposit there were delays, passive aggressive behaviour a lack of customer service/care, communication receipts, definitely no guarantee and bad workmanship! Finally the summerCabin was installed & within 2 months the structure was leaking, the badly installed composite decking with no room for expansion /contraction from the elements within 6 months cracked became brittle and dangerous.The company refused to look at the damage and adamant they won’t repair. Without compliance/respect for consumer law this matter went to court! I won but the company refuses to comply with the Courts decision-refund&court costs. Now with a leaky, mouldy, rotting construction & decking too dangerous to walk on my garden’s out of action,I can’t afford to get rid of it! Don’t fall into the same trap!

Always excellent friendly service and the coffee and cake delicious. Even in the cold weather there are blankets and heaters that are strong so despite being outside (in the winter!) it is always cosy.

Really disappointing to have to give a bad review to a local business when I try to support them but this is a real ‘buyer beware’ company. Handed over £1,235 on 22 September for shed that was promised in “3-4 weeks”. It’s 22 December and it’s still not fully finished and not up to standard – the doors won’t close properly! The whole experience has been really difficult at every juncture with specifications promised verbally not delivered and those that were required constant chasing and harrying. My error was not getting a fully itemised quote and paying in full upfront - trusting a verbal agreement. Lesson learned – I hope others can learn from this review.

The Rhiwbina Women's Club had a most enjoyable afternoon making hanging baskets . Due to unforeseen circumstances we were not able to make the hanging baskets at the Secret Shed. But, with the minimum of fuss it had all been rearranged by the owner that the 12 of us could meet at the Wendy House. We were shown how to make stunning hanging baskets with all flowers and baskets being supplied by The Secret Shed. Because of the change of venue we have all been invited to call in to have tea and cake when the cafe at the the back of the Secret Shed opens shortly. We are looking forward to photographing our hanging baskets when they will be in full splendour in June. The staff at the Secret Shed could not have been more helpful and we will definitely be visiting this very conveniently located business in the centre of Rhiwbina Village as they have a vast selection of good quality plants and gifts on sale
