Just had the worst mixed grill ever with service to match, waited 40 minutes for a plate of dried up meat, the steak was supposed to be rare, no one checked on us, had to ask for a steak knife, go elsewhere

Fantastic menu, loads of choice and it's all fresh, home-cooked, good pub grub! Lovely warm atmosphere in a contemporary setting & a fab outdoor drinking/eating area! A must visit!!!

The Runhead Bar & Grill is situated on the Main Road in Ryton, just as you enter the village. It's a large establishment with ample car parking and plenty of seats and tables outside, if you wish to partake in a spot of al fresco wining and dining. A pint of lager costs £2.50 and a glass of Coca Cola starts at £1.40, which is about average for pubs in the area. The food menu is good, with a wide variety of dishes - ranging from starters and sandwiches, to grills and mains. There's also a specials board which is updated daily. The chicken pie is my favourite dish on the menu - it's absolutely enormous and filled to the brim with huge chunks of chicken breast and ham. Lovely!
