The Rising Sun

I had a few lovely pints of Foxes ale, and as it's a regular haunt for the locals, there seem always someone to chat to. I didn't eat, but the food looked good.

We wanted to eat at an old english pub and decided to visit the Rising Sun in Umberleigh as it has open fires, real ales n ciders and a very good reputation for its food (new chef) !
Last time we went out there approx 6 mths ago, it was very drab n needed updating, but the meal was good.
** NEW OWNERS AUG 2015.**
We were pleasantly surprised to find that it has new owners,
Karolina and Julian who have update the old carpets, brought in new staff...who are polite and friendly, and are in the process of upgrading all the rooms, opening up the restaurant extension and the function room.
They've also brought in some special mid-week offers such as
two 8oz steaks and all the trimmings on Wednesdays , two-for £20, with "open mic" and live music planned for the near future !

We can't wait for their new website to go live, so that we can see whats on each week and any special offers that they are running. Helen C
