Awful hotel & terrible customer service & ignorant owners

1
This hotel is dishonourable & lie. The photo of the deluxe king room is grossly misrepresented on the website. No curtains, no seating area, no hot drink making facilities, window sills were filthy, flaked paint from the ceiling on the carpet, pillows so overused they were flat, shower curtain stained brown around the bottom & shower hooks rusty. Toilet impossible to flush etc. The room shouldn't even be available for paying guests. The gentleman on reception apologised several times & told us he would start the refund process . 3 months later after chasing the hotel, booking.com & Talash Hotels still no refund. Talash Hotels ignore any communication & booking.com don't want to know. Now we are starting legal proceedings to obtain the refund that we were told on several occasions by the hotel (by emails and verbally) that we would be receiving. All they had to do was the right thing and just give us our money back.

Fobbed off and disappointed

2
Disappointing visit on Monday after booking a table in the Orangery to celebrate daughters 18th was handed a completely different menu with little choice for my daughters tastes. Instead of sitting in the light airy Orangery we were put in the dark restaurant. Told menu changes daily however neither menu we were given held any resemblance to the Brassiere menu and I do feel fobbed off. Had we not been celebrating the occasion we would have left. Website invites you to try the Brassiere menu which is available daily till 9pm - NOT. Paid over £80 for a meal I could have paid £30 and would have got what I actually wanted. Food was well cooked and tasty if not what we would have actually liked and the staff were attentative and friendly(although bar man missing when we arrived) Was it a good impression that makes me want to return - honestly NO and after seeing the look of disappointment on my daughters face neither will she.

The Quorn country hotel

When we arrived at the hotel as guests for a wedding party, we were left standing at the reception desk for about 5 minutes as there was no one on the desk to greet you. Once we were settled in our rooms we tried to turn on the air conditioning, only to discover that it wasn't working, we spoke to the receptionist about this, she came to our room to try and get it to work, her response was because we were paying for standard accommodation we were not entitled to air conditioning, we asked if my sister-in-law could have a fan, she said she would see what she could do, only a fan never materialised and we were not informed either way. We went back to the reception area a few hours later, as my sister-in-law was having a panic attack at the thought of staying in room 102 as it was like a sweat box, not only that her room backed onto the function room, we could literally feel the room vibrating from the music, when I rang to book our rooms I asked if we would be situated away from the music as my sister-in-law is disabled and suffers from COPD and I was assured we would be, she was reluctantly offered another room with air conditioning.
As for the food at the reception it was horrible, the vegetables were not cooked properly, the chicken was extremely dry, we had to ask for extra gravy, for what the bride and groom had to pay for this appalling meal it really is not worth a four star rating. No one bothered to collect the glasses from the tables, some of the guests were having to do this themselves to make room for more drinks. Then at the end of the evening a member of staff was heard swearing at the DJ to wrap up all this in front of young children.
The only good thing was the rooms were extremely clean and the bed comfortable. We certainly would not recommend this hotel to friends and family.
