Business Overview

From those lovely people at Brasserie Blanc a pub where the beer is proper, the wine list is great and the food is hearty and delicious.

The Queen’s Head was built in the mid 1700 probably as a coach house but in it’s time it has also been a courthouse (apparently with its own gallows) but has been a pub for some considerable time. Originally not all the rooms would have been used for drinking, but now, what would have been the stables has been restored, as have the other rooms, bringing back snugs, bars, fireplaces and even a pewter bar, there is also outside seating both front and back. Even the cellar has been refurbished, out of sight but not out of mind. An open kitchen shows we are as serious about our food as we are about our ales. Outdside you’ll fiind a lovely garden dining area and plenty of car parking space. By the way, in case you were wondering; the Queen in question would have been Margravine Caroline of Brandenburg-Ansbach, or Queen Caroline to you and me.

P.S. Though we have no evidence, we are told the place is haunted by a quarrelling couple.

lunchtime special
I used to go in here when I worked locally and really enjoyed the food at lunch. Mixture of traditional pub classics and some more daring gastro type dishes.

Cosy inside and nicely decked out. Right in the centre of Weybridge so parking is a bit of a pain but other that well worth a visit.

Queens Head
This place sued to be a kind of hybrid rugby club french restaurant. The restaurant L'Auberge, was good but uneven. its recently been re-furbished by the White Brasserie company owned by Raymond Blanc. Long story short, its now a very credible upmarket brasserie take on traditional english pub foo.

The food is quite good, the service professional and the cooking well timed. Absolutely worth a visit. On the night we were there there was a lovely smoked salmon on homemade piccalilli starter, and a very credible braised pork collar with flageout beans. definitely worth a visit.
