The Mulberry Bush Montessori Nursery

The Mulberry Bush Montessori Nursery has been under the current ownership since 2003. We operate from three main rooms within a homely single storey wooden structured building in West Mersea, Colchester, Essex. We have a room for imaginative role play resourced with child size home furnishings and dressing up clothes. An art and crafts room, resourced to provide a balance of child led and adult initiated creative activities, a cloakroom, lobby separates these rooms from a large classroom resourced with beautiful didactic Montessori materials and activities, this room leads into a secure enclosed outdoor area, as well as a spacious and well resourced natural garden. The adult to child ratios are high and the ethos is one of calm and order, yet is a hive of activity where children are free to move between the rooms as they wish and are encouraged and supported to explore, experience and enjoy learning through fun, interesting and challenging activities.
