The Lendal Cellars York

We were Xmas shopping around the York tourist Xmas markets. Choice of eating venues in the central area is vast and can be difficult to select because of the diversity ! We ended up here due to selection overload. It is converted cellars and could be a little cloister-phobic for some. Access for wheelchairs is nonexistent. Plenty of tables and quite pleasant inside. They cleaned the table with sanitiser on request and passed my jug of iced water test immediately. We ordered two chicken and mushroom pies, one chicken and chips and something else and chips ? The service was fast and friendly at fourteen minutes. All were hot and quite satisfactory. Price wise about a pound too high on every thing but that is typical for touristic York. We come as always to the caring test “toilets” ! Two disabled toilets is not enough for the amount of customers. To make them “disabled toilets” at the top of two flights of stairs is ridiculous ! Hence the average score !
