The Labyrinth Foundation

The Labyrinth Foundation was conceived and founded in 1989. Its mission statement ‘Dedicated to the development of the individual through the principles underlying music’ was and remains the key focus of any work embarked upon by its teachers.

The Labyrinth Foundation embraces different aspects of work in which the language of music is used as a vehicle to encourage each individual to achieve their greatest potential in the most natural, engaging and fulfilling way.

Both the theoretical and practical side of learning are integrated in the most natural way, ensuring that all key aspects of musicianship are covered almost surreptitiously enabling the student to simply enjoy the learning process.

With the plethora of reasons for choosing to learn an instrument; for example, to boost confidence, realise a long-held desire to learn, promote a talent, prepare for a school performance, an audition or a more formal exam, or indeed, to simply have a bit of fun, lessons are tailored to meet the needs of the individual.

Both the wishes of the student and professional judgment of the teacher are considered in the setting of any goals or challenges. This may take the form of a formal exam, performing in a concert, or maybe aiming to play/sing a favourite piece/song competently and with confidence!

We work with a variety of reputable examination boards in a bid to maintain our commitment to tailoring our teaching to suit individual needs. These include:

Rockschool for those who enjoy performing contemporary music
