Terrible company - please avoid to save yourself the stress of dealing with them.
My review matches many others and I wish I read them before using Herdman Carpets. I prepaid my carpet service during covid to support an independence business, big mistake. They cannot organise any fitting or measurements without being chased continuously by me, it took 2 months to get my landing installed and 4 months later I am still chasing (and being ignored) for my stair runner. They book in fitting dates and no show, create elaborate excuses and then go back on them when they realise they have lost your measurements.
Stay away, it’s a headache you don’t need.

I have been a customer of this carpet shop for many years…..I would never go any where else. They are helpful, professional and reliable. Great job always!

Terrible, terrible customer service. Although I am a big believer in trying to support small and local businesses, I have to say unfortunately this company is the worst I have ever had to deal with. You practically have to beg them to let you give them your business. They never follow up, they constantly over promise and under deliver. The product that was eventually installed was installed without any care and attention. I have continually tried to contact them to rectify it, they keep promising but now are just ignoring me. I cannot recommend them at all.

We chose this family business at the end of 2014 to lay laminate flooring in our flat. A member of the family came to do the job and refused to lay the laminate underneath our 2 wardrobes. The guy promised us to come, free of charge, to lay it should we one day decide to move the furniture around. I wasn't happy at all since a different service was agreed but I trusted him. We put our flat on the market and the new buyer kindly asked us to lay the laminate in the missing spots as well so we contacted the shop explaining the situation a while ago.First via email then we called, explaining all our story 2, 3 times. Every time we were ignored, promised a phone call which never happened. So we hired someone else to do the job (promised to us for free) and my husband phoned 2 times to order the spare parts. 1st time: we will call you back. THE SECOND TIME HE WAS TOLD IN A RUDE WAY THEY DID NOT HAVE TIME, they were busy doing an estimate. We bought the laminate somewhere else. Speechless.

I am really happy with the work done by the Herdman family for a client of mine whose home refurbishment I was project managing.
From start to finish this family are hard working professionals who are proud of their shop that has run for 30 years. They did a back breaking job in a 5 bed family home in a London heatwave and did a marvellous job. The house is transformed! Jake and his son Martin removed all old carpeting and cleaned up after themselves so every room was as new.
Martin Herdman Senior was happy to give two quotes, for different quality carpets so my client could choose.

Whoever wrote the shockingly spiteful review on this page clearly has a weird personal issue?!?
