Situated in the heart of Bedford town centre, the magnificent Grand Hall, Bromham Road is steeped in history. Dating back to 1882, this stunning ground floor room is now fully licensed for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies for up to 150 guests.

Benefiting from distinctive Victorian décor, The Grand Hall has lofty, ornate ceilings that provide a lavish backdrop for the perfect wedding or civil partnership ceremony.

You can make your glamorous entrance through the impressive, ornate doors whilst your guests wait in the atmospheric hall. The Grand Hall is truly unique and will ensure a ceremony that is unforgettable. It was built for the Harpur Trust as a school hall in ‘Free Tudor’ style and from the beginning has been considered to be a notable landmark in the town, featuring in guidebooks and on postcards.

The Hall boasts an exquisite original John Broadwood and Sons piano dating back to the 19th century. The piano is ideal for playing classical music during your ceremony and for maximising the ‘wow’ factor as you walk down the aisle. The stunning showpiece organ located on the overhead balcony is another notable feature in The Grand Hall.

The Grand Hall is also an ideal venue for wedding receptions, parties, christenings and other special functions. We work closely with recommended caterers who are tried and tested and can provide the perfect food to suit your day, namely The Wedding Catering Company, Bella Italia and La Baracca Pizzeria. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring in your own caterers if you prefer.

If you are planning a small, intimate celebration for less than 20 people, our beautiful Boardroom is also licensed for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies.
