Amazing products, great customer service, terrible delivery times!

This company sell really great products but they are subject to very long delivery times. I ordered their Rochester bookcase and after I bought it was informed of delivery times that way exceeded those advertised of 12-14 weeks. They refused to give any discount for a 4-5 month delay in delivery so I cancelled the order. If you're prepared to wait that long, then go ahead and buy something—otherwise I would shop elsewhere. It's a shame because they make such beautiful products.

Do not buy from The Dormy House unless you are prepared to wait for several months for your order.

I ordered a table from The Dormy House 14 weeks ago. The delivery was quoted as 6-8 weeks. As I write this review, it is now 14 weeks since I ordered and the payment made. I still have not got the table. It is supposedly with Vangaroo, their delivery company who have had it for several days and made no delivery yet.
Throughput this long period, Dormy House did not keep me updated unless I contacted them.

It has taken almost 11 weeks for our TV unit to be delivered. We initially purchased on a 4-6 week delivery time.
As part of the service, your item is assembled for you, so there's no effort required. This is not the case.
The delivery drivers are not provided with instructions on how to assemble. They also don't assemble, apparently we need to source wood glue to secure all in place. DH said that they would instruct us how to assemble the unit. I declined- we were offered a service of assembly. It is a good job we didn't secure everything with wood glue, the media centre was slotted the wrong way round.
The delivery company sends someone over to assemble the unit. When unpacking the shelves I notice paint damage. I email DH to advise and they say that all shelves have a top and reverse, nothing can be done about the paint damage. It isn't until I threaten to contact trading standards that they accept the fault and confirm they will send replacements.

I have just received my headboard and curtains. Fantastic quality and amazing service. Highly recommended. Definitely worth a visit.
