Loved this hotel

Spent a night here in one of the suites. Had dinner in the Thai which is the best Thair I have ever been to. We were greeted on arrival in a double decker bus which was really exciting! They also have a farm shop which sell lovely hoem made cakes, jams, alocohol etc. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Very disappointing taster menu.

We went to Crazy Bear, Stadhampton, through a groupon deal and still didn't feel we got our money's worth. After several disappointing courses we left before desert, something I have never done before.

On the up side, the service was friendly and of course the whole place had the wonderful over-the-top crazy bear decor and feel to it. But it will be quite sometime before I consider eating there again.

Stunning, Oxfordshire's Best Kept Secret

I have to say this is one of the nicest places in Oxfordshire to drink, eat, relax and even shop!

There are three Crazy Bears across London, Oxon and Bucks. This is the only one I have been to but I have to say, it is just lovely. They have a nice private beer garden where you can while away the afternoon, there is also an large extension to this garden where they hold private functions. The bar offer everything from draught lager to well made cocktails.

There are also two restaurants, Thai and English - both are very good and reasonably priced. I have not stayed in the hotel but the rooms look very cool online and I hear they are quirky and worth booking into if you want something different.

Stadhampton is a little out the way but that's really what makes this place so special. Don't forget to visit the farm shop. Some cracking organic produce and nice to just have a look around.

The Crazy Bear

In the top 5 of our East Oxford team's favourites, the Crazy Bear is great. It is stylish, with wonderful food (offering both English and Thai menus) and drinks (wines, cocktails, champagne...).

Crazy in love

I love, love, love the Crazy Bear. I would eat there every day if I could…but I would have to win the lottery.

The Crazy is a beautiful, old pub situated in Stadhampton, meaning you will probably need a car to get there. As you approach the building, you will be stunned by the fairy lights adorning every tree and every so slightly confused by the double decker bus in the garden. As you saunter up the path, you will find yourself wondering about the prices in a place where the car park is full of Bentleys and Aston Martins. Inside, the luxury continues in a more rustic way where you will see busy décor that includes a large stuffed bear. The bar offers sumptuous cocktails (I recommend the blueberry) and champagne on tap. For food, you have a choice between English upstairs and Thai downstairs. I can honestly say that both are magnificent and worth the average £15 - £20 per main course. The Crazy Bear is a perfect choice for that special occasion but, be warned, you may be left wanting more than your bank balance can take.
