Disappointing dining for real 'foodies'
2
My wife and I regularly eat out every weekend. We decided to give The Bush a try as it's within a mile of our home and quite convenient.
On arrival, we were very impressed by our surroundings, the building appeared smart, well kept and clean. We were then greeted by a very friendly young lady who showed us to a table, took our drinks order and then stayed to assist us in choosing our food, making recommendations and making sure we were aware of their 'specials'.
We ordered a steak for myself and my wife chose the ribs, in fairness, the steak was acceptable, however, the ribs were obviously from a packet and judging by their insipid colour had been microwaved, the sauce seemed somewhat mass produced in both it's texture and flavour. The vegetables that accompanied the meal were acceptable, however, disappointingly, the chips were clearly frozen rather than handcut from fresh potatoes as you might expect from a higher end establishment.
All things considered, despite a promising start with pleasant and helpful staff and a lovely environment, a very disappointing dining experience for anyone who enjoys genuine 'home cooked' food.
