Terrible service!

Terrible. We booked table, food didn't arrive for over an hour. We were a second thought to the waitresses. We were over looked all evening!

Unpleasant, been a number of times when it was lovely, would not come again.

Filthy dirty pub, used to be lovely would not want to eat here now. Our glasses were greasy and so were the tables. Dead flies and cobwebs everywhere. Toilets disgusting one was full of vomit and had not been cleaned. What happened to this lovely pub ?

Used to be good but terrible service on bank holiday. They were apologetic but we had a really big long wait for food and most of the order was incorrect. Really a total shambles.

Sublime location, wonderful pub

Mention Turville and you may get quizzical looks - mention Vicar of Dibley, Midsommer Murders, Miss Marple or Foyles War and this sublime little village gets instant recognition as a well known backdrop to all of the above. The pub complements this admirably. Now under the loving care of a Springbok it serves well above average tasty posh pub grub and well kept Brakspear beers and lagers.

The atmosphere is friendly and the interior wonderfully naturally rustic,(framed pictures of John Nettles & Dawn French apart)as is befitting a place that's been knocking around since 1550...

Happily and perhaps unusually for a country pub it's open all day as well - bliss...
