1After speaking to 4 pest control companies explaining the timeline, the 8 bites, and that there was no other place they could have come from apart from the mattress, they were all in agreement that it was bedbugs.
The customer service I have received from The Bed Post has been comically poor. The owner came to my home and behaved in an incredibly unprofessional manner, telling me that he did not believe me, that it must be a different insect that caused the bites, and that they must have come from elsewhere. There was literally nothing else in the room apart from the mattress and bedding from my previous home. He was literally almost shouting at me in my own home. The way I've been treated after having such damage done is appalling.
Our customer purchased a new mattress from us which was not in stock and would take 3-4 weeks to be manufactured. As our customer was without a mattress to sleep on for this period we offered to loan her a mattress until her purchased mattress was delivered. (This mattress that was loaned was brand new and had never been slept on although had previously been loaned to another customer, earlier this year, for the same reason but this customer ended up not using this mattress). We also supplied a new Protect-a-bed mattress protector to use during this period. In 30 years of trading we have never had any accusations of introducing bed bugs to customers’ homes, so when this customer accused us of introducing bed bugs to her home it was most concerning to us and we took this matter very seriously and asked to be provided with information and evidence of bed bugs from the property. continued... ..........

She had discovered bites on her lower leg and foot which she assumed were from bed bugs. We visited the customer on the day she called us and removed the mattress. On initial inspection of the mattress and protector we found no trace of bed bugs on them. We carried out a further thorough inspection of the mattress on return and found no evidence of bed bugs. The customer called a pest control company, who treated the room 12 days later, they found no evidence of bed bugs. We have had the mattress inspected by a pest control company who reported that there is no evidence of bed bugs on or in the mattress, and no evidence that there has ever been. They have placed insect detectors on the mattress so we can monitor if there is evidence of bed bugs on this mattress. No physical evidence has been found after 22 days. For which we have photographic evidence.
When asked to provide evidence of bed bugs in the property, none was supplied. With no physical evidence or sightings of bed bugs, which are visible to the eye. We have been trying to resolve this issue with the customer and during this period we have had many threats of blackmail from the customer to damage our company’s reputation by writing bad online reviews if we don’t pay compensation for the treatment to the property. We know we did not introduce bed bugs to this customers home and this has been proven by the evidence collected.
