Thai Siam serves a variety of Thai and vegetarian dishes at their restaurant. A takeaway menu is also available.
found a real thai one with real thai people food here is second to none, its like being in thailand .The staff are so pleasant and never rush you for the table .It did take a little time for the food to come out ,but you can taste the freshness in the food when it arrived and boy was it worth the wait.Chicken salad and beef panang are my favourite . Definitely worth a try (i am hungry now)
If the tables were spaed out more i think it would make a big difference.
The food is great although not quite to my taste for Thai but it doesnt stop me going if I am over that way.
They give a discount for take away which is a really good plus point, not many restaurants do that.
Def worth a visit if you are over the west end.
We headed in on a busy Saturday night without a reservation and tried to get a table. Instead of getting brushed off we were told that we could have a table but closer to 9pm. Okay - off we headed for a few drinks and when we came back we were taken straight to our tables - no waiting around!
It is a very small restaurant but I like that anyway so all the signs looked good. The decor is really nice as well!Everyone, including the staff, were very chilled out and it just had this really nice atmosphere to it. When we had ordered some drinks they also served a huge bowl of complimentary Thai crackers which were absolutely lovely!
We then opened the menu and it was huge but I was over the moon to find a really good section for vegetarians as some eastern restaurants don't put that much thought into us old veggies. I had tofu for starter and main - but done very differently and it was the biggest portions I've ever seen and quite easily the best Thai food I've ever had!!! On a cold, wet Glasgow night that’s what you want. My fiancé isn't veggie and he was very impressed with his starter and main (he had duck for main but I can't recall the starter). We had all this along with a few Thai beers - lovely.
The staff are wonderful as well. Instead of just nodding when you point to a menu item we were asked to have a go at pronouncing it which was great (even though I was sure that I was probably asking for deep fried door handles in Thai) but all the right food seemed to come out of the kitchen so maybe I wasn't so bad afterall. This all added to the chilled and friendly atmosphere and by the time we were leaving we felt that we just had one of the best nights out in a long time.
We're going back this Saturday for our anniversary and I can't wait. We seriously cannot think of another restaurant in Glasgow, Thai or otherwise, where we have felt that we were so well treated.
You've got to try the Thai Siam - you don't know what you’re missing :) !!!
