Me and my sister when to Texas Jacks for the first time the other day, we really enjoyed our food and cocktails but after we finished our food they took our plates and never came back for over an hour until we complained that we were being completely ignored, which carried on even after we complained. I would like to say it was because they were busy but we were one of the only people left in the restaurant. We eventually had enough after another half an hour and asked for the bill. When it came we complained to say we would like some money taken off due to the lack of service they provided us which then the waitress called emsy shouted at my sister was consistently rude to us for 20 minutes and argued and not once apologized for the lack of service. She then when on to tell us that what do we expect from a no service charge restaurant and tried to tell us that they did not have a manager. I did really like this place however this experience has put me off EVER going there again. I work in the hospitably industry so I deal with Customers and Complaints every day but never would I ever dream of speaking to one of my clients the way this lady spoke with us.

lunch with the kids
visited the restaurant for the 1st time a few Sundays ago with my son & daughter. A bit quite but food and service were really good. The waitress was really great. Only thing to let it down there was no deserts left at all!!! Will go again.

New name, new restaurant
My wife and I have been several times during the last six months or so. It is a completely different and vastly improved place to the previous 'Chico's'.

Food is tasty, salads fresh and the tapas is good value. I've rarely spent more than £40 for our meals, including a couple of cocktails.

A good place for couples or bigger parties, if you can put up with the sometimes relentless Pan-American musak, it probably offers better value than nearby similar restaurants.

Great food, warm welcome.
We took our children here for lunch on a weekend. The service was really friendly. The lady who served us was great with the kids, nothing was too much trouble and the chef came out to say hello which was a nice touch. The food was really tasty Mexican fair and very generous portions which left us absolutely stuffed. A big improvement on the previous Chicos, the decor is lovely and you get your own sombrero to wear. All in all a fun and fulfilling time. It is probably really good in the evening with quite an atmosphere. We would definitely go back again.

Try elsewhere
Took my wife here a while back. We can't keep going to the same places, and we'd heard this place was popular. Going early evening probably accounted for any lack of atmosphere - and customers. We both ordered meat dishes with fries and a side salad. The service was what you would expect in an average greasy spoon cafe - not restaurant standard. Sorry, but we expect better than food that is no better than cheap supermarket food you just bung in a microwave. At least, that's how it tasted. No self-respecting chef had been near it. Spending £40 there that could have been spent at a much better eatery left a bitter taste, and we won't be recommending it to anyone.
