11.45am, Good Friday, husband decides that car needs 4 new tyres. Easter weekend and busy on Saturday. Driving to Scotland on Monday.
Called Tech tyres at 12, tyres in stock and fitter available . Send husband off,back at 1.30pm. All sorted and less expensive than we expected. Lady I spoke to was very helpful and friendly.

Unlike the previous poster who gave 1 * we had a great experience with our MOT, allowing us a few days to sort and bring back to retest for a minor item that needed welding back on securely. We have used tech tyres many times and in fact booked our horsebox in for brakes tomorrow.

Very helpful and knowledgeable friendly service. Could not ask for better.

I’m really disappointed, I thought I’d found a local garage I could trust. The mechanic failed my car with its MOT saying the pad wear sensor wires had been ‘tied back’ instead of being connected. He said the brakes worked well and the pads did not need replacing but because the warning light was disconnected it was considered dangerous under the new regulations and charged me £150 to replace the wires. I checked the new MOT regulations, they state that a car will fail if the warning light is lit indicating worn pads. My cars pads were not in need of replacement and the warning light not lit.

When I rang the garage the mechanic had been tipped off and had revised his reason for the MOT fail. He now said the wires were loose and dangerous. I asked why he hadn’t secured or reconnected them or let me do this then re-test. He said he was not allowed under the strict MOT conditions and that the car was considered too dangerous! He was making-up his story as the conversation progressed.
