I personally had a bad experience on the diploma counselling course. Four weeks before successfully completing my advanced counselling diploma my course tutor told me to leave the course and return once my mother had died (I am also looking after my terminally ill mother).

After a very stressful and upsetting complaints procedure that was delayed, I was told that I could not return to the college, offered no refund and no way to complete my diploma.

I have since pleaded withe the college and the director to complete my diploma but they have refused to acknowledge or work with me.

I turned to the management of the college to help me, initially they said they would, but then retracted and said I had to follow their complaints procedure.

This is my personal experience, and I am aware that the education centre itself supports the community, but in terms of offering an academic counselling diploma, I found it to be seriously distressing and upsetting.
