Business overview

Support Counselling offers an integrative counselling and psychotherapeutic approach that combines numerous scientific approaches to create individualised treatment plans.

Are you struggling to process a painful life experience? Did something happen that you can’t stop thinking about? Do you feel stuck and unable to move on?

Life can be cruel. We see it time and time again. Bad things happen to good people. And we suffer. We get depressed, anxious, angry, paranoid, defensive and frightened. We avoid the things that bring us pain and as time goes on that list gets longer and longer and our life gets smaller and smaller. We get trapped in our heads, struggling to forget the past, fearing the future, and missing out on all the joy and happiness in the present moment. Life feels like a problem that needs to be solved. We try everything that we can think of to make life a bit more bearable. Sometimes we catch a short break: a day, an hour, a minute of relief from our suffering. But it doesn’t last long and soon we’re back in the misery. Desperate. Confused. Stuck.

It doesn’t have to be that way. I can show you how to make simple and gentle changes that will have a profound impact on your quality of life. I have spent many years training to learn the secrets to health and happiness. I understand what causes your suffering and I can show you how to set yourself free.

Everyone is capable of experiencing peace, love and happiness. Everyone is capable of living a rich, full and meaningful life. You were born happy. It is your default setting. You just need to know how to access it. And I can show you.

Got my smile back

5
Got me through a rough patch. I was feeling low, really low. Not sleeping, not eating, anxious and worried, really fed up with my life and constantly taking it out on my wife. I never thought I'd smile again. My wife dragged me to counselling months ago and it has completely changed my life. I've seen Addison 8 times now and it's had a big impact on my day to day life - and I smile now!

An invaluable service as you go through some terrible times

Addison is such a kind and understanding person, so professional but personable too. I've been really struggling since losing my husband and as there's no help on the nhs and all my doctor wants to do is give me sleeping tablets I decided to go to a counsellor. I must say that I wasn't sure how talking could help but I was so desperate that I decided to give it a go and I'm really glad that I did. Professional counselling really helps you to understand the process of grieving, the different stages and effective coping strategies. It puts your loss and pain into perspective which helps you to cope. The pain is still there but you learn how to handle it and how to keep moving forward. I understand that I'm going through a process that we all go through at some point in our lives and that I must keep going forward, look after myself and try to bring perspective to my life. Addison holds your hand through this process and explains why you feel the way that you do. It really helps.
