At Suffolk Maids we use our register of reliable housekeepers to provide our customers with a personal housekeeper who attends regularly each week.

Established in May 2006, Suffolk Maids are pleased to help a great number of customers with their domestic cleaning and ironing. We work extremely hard to select the housekeeper that best suits the individual needs of the customer. Our housekeepers are able to offer cleans on a daily or weekly basis depending on the household requirements, dealing with all of the domestic cleaning and ironing tasks around the home. We take pride in finding much needed work for hundreds of workers in the local community. To qualify for registration, the housekeeper is interviewed in their home and must have significant experience as a cleaner/housekeeper. The housekeeper must provide two references which are followed up by our recruitment team. Once accepted the housekeeper is added to our register. We are very proud of the number of customers who are kind enough to send us positive feedback and also those that come to us via recommendation.

I’ve used Suffolk Maids for two years now and I would thoroughly recommend their services. They are always very friendly and professional.

They have also been very helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the help and advice given.

Bad experience

I tried to engage this company because I have a very busy life and had agreed the cleaner to start today. When I text her to confirm this morning she told me she had an appt and couldn't come because I hadn't confirmed to her .. Yet we'd confirmed when she was here. And incidentally - she hadn't tried to contact me! When I called the manager to discuss I left a message but instead of a call back... Got texts. Essentially telling me this was 'not a rocky start' but I would get a refund. So no apology, no help in finding a new cleaner and no understanding of my situation (sick mother coming out of hospital tomorrow and myself having been unwell so really need a cleaner). We invite cleaners into our home to help out and make our lives easier. It's also a very personal thing having someone in your home - I don't think these guys get it at all. Strongly recommend to look elsewhere. After all it's not cheap to use an agency - you hope you will be looked after!

It is with regret that a breakdown in communication between the customer and the housekeeper resulted in a missed appointment on the morning of 05/05/16. Upon receiving a voice message from the customer (which was left before the office opened), we immediately sent a text message to the customer to confirm that we were investigating the situation and would provide further information as quickly as possible. The customer replied to this text message and a conversation developed. The customer requested that a new housekeeper start cleaning within the next few days or her contract cancelled and refund provided. Internal procedures ensure that customers are matched with suitable housekeepers, and get to meet with their allocated housekeeper for a walk through before the first clean is arranged. This normally takes between 3 and 10 working days to complete. As the customer required a housekeeper outside of this scope, a full refund was processed to the customer on the same working day.
