Stonecroft Building & Carpentry Services

We used Stonecroft to build a new kitchen extension, which involved an element of demolition and then a part rebuild. We live in a town, on a High Street and have a small garden, which is obviously not the easiest situation for builders to work with. However, the Stonecroft team managed very well and we are very pleased with the end result. The manager was very easy to work with; was on site pretty much daily to assess progress; was quick to respond if I had any queries or needed anything; and when I first met him, came across as being honest, realistic and fair and proved to be so. The standard of work was very good and the team were hardworking; friendly to have around and courteous to our neighbours and any pedestrians they met on the High Street when they were tidying up at the end of the day. The one item that held Stonecroft up on timing was something I'd commissioned myself(!), however they managed to complete the job within the time frame they had set and on budget.

Robert and his team completely transformed the front of our house over several months during the summer of 2020. This involved turning the design we had (which was rather complicated and not always to scale!) into reality and working over lots of levels and slopes. They constructed several brick walls, both straight and curved, 3 round planters , steps, a completely new driveway, erected fencing and laid slabs and block paving. The brickwork and all associated work was done to a high standard. Most importantly Robert kept in touch throughout the project with regular updates, discussed options and any resulting additional costs as the work progressed, and kept to budget. The job did drag a bit towards the end and a few minor issues needed rectifying since completion but these have been dealt with without a problem. We are delighted with the finished result and have had lots of positive comments from neighbours and passers by.
