Excellent for young beginners and very popular.As they progress teaching is about technique and control which lacks a fun element.Once the reach a competent level 3 riders seem to stay there for a considerable time which can lead to boredom. A new level 3 advanced has been recently introduced to remove this ceiling. Level 4 is mainly the preserve of adult riders from outside who have many years experience.Overall there are hardly any boys. There is an outdoor arena for private lessons but no provision for hacking or outdooor riding. Instructors are pleasant and competent as are office staff and all employees and volunteers.The most impressive aspect is that done by the yard staff.Horses are well schooled,beautifully presented and well matched to their rider. Everything to do with the yard works like clockwork.Very impressive.

Having ridden at a number of riding schools in the North East I would highly recommend Stepney Bank Stables. The lessons are fun and challenging, the horses are beautifully schooled and looked after and the instructors are knowledgeable and know how to get the best out of students.

Stepney Bank Stables is a great place to ride and learn about horses. My children (13 & 6) enjoy riding at different levels. The under 5 lessons are great for young children. All of the horses are staff and the instructors are very knowledgeable and professional.

This stables is a great starting point for all riders. After a while it may seem right to move on to another riding centre but in all i can not fault.
