I visited this practice in October 2023 to have a soft tissue graft done, associated with a dental implant. I walked home, about15 minutes and an artery ruptured in my mouth, covered in blood I managed to get a neighbour to drive me back to the surgery. Seemingly the suction device had damaged the artery, not the scalpel the dentist was using! While the dentist was trying to cauterise the artery an ambulance was requested as it was unknown how much blood I had lost. I was taken to A&E where I spent 6 & 1/2 hours, passing out twice due to the shock.
I have since December been trying to resolve this issue, it is now mid March and nobody from senior management have contacted me, despite my numerous requests. Their own website states a period of 20 days to resolve complex disputes.
If you value your health do not use this practice for any implant work. I can’t fault the normal dental work I have had done at the practice, however, be wary of that very sharp suction device.

Lack of communication

I have been a patient of this practice for 40 years and I was told in march that my dentist had left and not to attend my appointments, after several phone calls I am still getting told that there is no dentist available. Nobody has tried to contact me since. I feel sorry for the receptionist as it is clearly not their fault but it seems since this practice was taken over it is a complete shambles.

I usually go to the sister practice in East Craigs but had to go to this one as an emergency at the weekend. No problem getting an appointment same day, was seen by Hew, the senior dentist. He couldn't have been kinder or nicer while extracting a wisdom tooth which didn't want to let go, and the same goes for the nurse who held my hand! I was given full information about aftercare and all seems to be well the next day. Thank you St John's Rd practice!
