We are a special needs school, catering for pupils with MLD, speech and language difficulties and complex needs. Also for children on the autistic spectrum.
St John Vianney School is a non-maintained special school for day pupils, supported by Salford Diocese. Pupils attend from Local Authorites including; Manchester , Stockport, Trafford, Salford, Tameside, Bury and Cheshire . Fees are paid by the authority in which the pupil resides.
The school caters for boys and girls in the age range 5-19 years who have Moderate Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs, Autistic Spectrum Condition, and Speech and Language Difficulties.
HISTORY OF SAINT JOHN VIANNEY SCHOOL
Saint John Vianney School was purpose built to help children of all ages with learning difficulties. Bishop Beck, (then Bishop of Salford), supported by Manchester and Stockport Local Authorities and with the agreement of the Department of Education, agreed to the school being built in 1969. The school opened in January 1972 with the Head teacher Mr. J.D. Clancy.
