Specsavers Ruislip's Bait-and-Switch Tactics Leave Me Seeing Red

Last year, I used my company's voucher at Specsavers Ruislip for VDU glasses, specifically for screen use. Less than a year later, my vision worsened, and I needed a new prescription. Despite my previous experience and clear need for screen-use glasses, they refused to accept my voucher, claiming the new prescription was for "near use," not "VDU use."

They insisted the previous optician made a mistake, essentially gaslighting me into paying out of pocket. This feels like a deliberate bait-and-switch tactic to avoid honoring their voucher scheme. Their contradictory advice and poor customer service leave me feeling cheated and frustrated. I would not recommend this branch.

Very disappointed

Have to say that I am very disappointed with the hearing side of spec savers firstly the man was 24 min late said held up in traffic took assistant to ring him to see where he was did say sorry but test lasted on more than ten minutes was only offered one hearing aid no discussion on any other hearing aid on offer did get offered €100 off due to being late but was amazed no discussion on follow up etc seemed was not interested in offering spec savers own brand hearing aids so was probably getting more commissions on named ones very disappointing with the whole thing as the eye part is so very caring this guy was not would not recommend hearing side at all

Couldn't believe my eyes

Absolutely fabulous, not only did the fit me in at short notice they then gave me a hundred pound pair of glasses for free with my nhs voucher , they then fitted me in for a contact lenses trial , when the store called me to arrange my appointment I was riding my motorbike and didn't have a pen so the receptionist texted me the appointment from her personal phone to make it easier for me. A lovely clean shop with attentive staff and a positive caring attitude!
