Absolutely terrible staff that should not be employed as they are happy to be abusive in front children. Also extremely rude, really bad prices and animals that are not looked after properly. All in all I would not recommend this shop. Had a very bad experience with the staff here threatening me. I will never take your kids here for a pet unless you want to have them upset by the horrible staff members in this place. Should be shut down.

I went into southern aquatics as an amateur fish owner and was sold some fish with the information that they would be suitable with the fish i already had. i introduced them into my existing tank and withing a week the new fish start to attack and eat my other fish. I then did research about them and found out that the information i was given was completely wrong and they should not be with the fish i had. i returned back to southern aquatics and spoke to them about what had happened. After pointing out the guy who gave me the information the manager turned around to staff member and said he should not even be selling fish let alone giving advice on them. this made me very uncomfortable knowing that this person did now what they were talking about and still sold us fish. my son was horrified to see his favourite fish being mauled when he woke up in the morning. i will not be returning to southern aquatics again and would advise others to seek other specialised shops.

The customer service in this place is shocking! Went in to get some bits for our rabbit and whilst in there we saw a staff member vaping whilst walking around the shop. When paying for our items the two people behind the till couldn’t even stop their conversation whilst serving us and I thought this was terrible behaviour. Will not be returning to southern aquatics and will look elsewhere.

I brought a bird today and turtles a month ago and they’re very informative.. if I ever have a problem he always fixes it! Thank you!

DO NOT BUY FISH FROM SOUTHERN AQUATICS!!!
Very poor customer service, abrupt and unhelpful staff.
Have to pay for fish at the till and absolutely not allowed to see what is bagged and given to you.
I bought 8 Platys and 4 died of Fin Rot within a week. 2 of the fish already had the disease therefore this is very bad care of livestock and awful aquarium maintenance.
This pathetic attitude and disgracefully poor service must change.
I will never, never, never go near this place again and I advise you to go elsewhere.
