Southcrest Veterinary Centre is a long established, independent veterinary practice. We strive to provide the best possible service through our experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses and reception staff. We have been a nurse training practice for many years, encouraging many enthusiastic nurses to pursue a fulfilling career in all aspects of animal care. We also have a fully trained canine behaviorist who is able to offer advice in the practice and at our client's homes. We accept referrals for acupuncture and ophthalmology. Our diagnostic facilities include a digital X-ray processor, flexible and rigid endoscope, ultrasound scanner, cryosurgery, microscope and in-house blood testing machines. More and more blood tests are becoming available that are able to be processed at our site which allows us to give fast and reliable results. This is very useful for diagnosing and monitoring ill patients, especially in an emergency. We can examine faecal, urine, and tissue samples in our own laboratory. We have a special interest in exotic pets which include birds (chickens, swans, ducks included), reptiles and small mammals. We have a dedicated exotics ward which has thermostatically controlled enclosures. We see a huge range of these interesting pets and are able to offer specific diagnostic tests and surgical procedures for them. We have always been extremely concerned with animal welfare and we are privileged to be involved with the Wythall Animal Rescue. We are responsible for all their veterinary care including vaccinations, neutering, treatment and advice. The main goals being welfare and health so that their animals can be rehomed in the best possible condition. Our team is caring and supportive of each other and this enables them to give genuine and compassionate support to our clients. We are always happy to see our clients or to give them advice over the phone. We offer home visits if necessary and are always pleased to welcome new clients through the door.
