Traditional Sash Window Renovation and Insulation
Draught proofing – Weatherpile brush strips are fitted into your original windows and frames to make them run smoothly and benefit from heat and sound insulation.
New sash cords, pulleys, catches and locks – We can advise on various options for new window furniture.
Rebalancing windows – If panes of glass have ever been replaced in an old window then the weight will have changed, resulting in the windows being unbalanced. The effect of this is that they fail to stay open or may not run smoothly. This is remedied by weighing the window and renewing the lead weights.
Window renovation and painting – All paint is removed from the windows before performing any repairs. This ensures an effective repair and a durable, perfectly painted finish. All repairs are performed using a flexible resin which flexes as the timber expands and contracts; this means no cracks will return to the joins in the future. Top quality primers and topcoats are used to form a long lasting and durable finish.
Frame renovation and painting – Any sections of damaged timber are replaced with Sapele, a sustainable hardwood. All joins are made with flexible resin to allow for any expansion/contraction of the timber.
Double glazing – your original windows can be fitted with narrow double glazing which adds to the insulation benefits of draught proofing. This will also reduce condensation on the inside of the windows.

Firstly Rob came to quote and advised that windows and frames could all be renovated, some wood was rotten due to damp and pulleys and ropes jammed and broken on some windows and I wasn't sure if that was best way to proceed. I got a quote and booked a week for windows quite a few months in advance, Rob and team are very busy I booked second set of windows about 8 months in advance! Final price was same as the quotation.
The work was very efficient and done onsite, its a messy job but that was kept to a minimum. Windows were placed back in frames overnight which was good for security.
All windows are amazing no problems have become apparent and it has been over a year since the first were done, definitely recommend!
