We specialise in working on historic structures and have gained considerable experience over the years in producing sympathetic designs and working with traditional materials.
We provide initial feasibility studies and assessments through to detailed design, tendering, site supervision and project management. However, the scope of services we can provide are far broader than this and below is a selection of the services we can provide. Mr Simon Bastone - Director
Qualifications: BSc (Hons), CEng, MICE, MIStructE - chartered in both Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering in 1988. Simon qualified as a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer in 1988, has over 20 years experience in Expert Witness work and over 30 years experience in structural and civil engineering design, reporting, surveys and project management.
Mr Tim Hunter - Chartered Engineer
Qualifications: BEng(Hons) CEng MIStructE. Tim joined in 2016 having 20 years of consultancy experience in the Midlands and South West. Tim achieved Chartered Structural Engineer status in 2000 and has a background in historic building repair, structural appraisal and alterations, telecoms structures and temporary works design. Tim is keen to promote sustainable and low energy construction.
Mr Peter Lambert - Chartered Engineer
Qualifications: CEng, MIStructE Peter has worked with Simon Bastone Associates Ltd since 2007 on a wide range of interesting projects, delivering high quality design. He has gained considerable experience over the years, commencing work in the construction industry in 1964. Previous projects include extensive works to historic buildings where a sympathetic approach is necessary.
Mr Jonathan Holtby - Design Engineer
Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering Graduating and joining the company in 2006, Jon has gained extensive design experience on a wide range of projects and is a valuable asset to the company. Work undertaken includes foundations, piling, basement construction, steel, timber frame, masonry and reinforced concrete design. He is also an experienced detailer using AutoCad.
Mr Robert Thomson - Chartered Engineer
Qualifications: BSc, CEng, MIStructE Chartered in 1995 and with a background of Investigation, design and supervision for numerous projects for Developers, Private Clients, Commercial, Leisure, Architects, Design and Build contracts, National Trust and other referrals, Robert has developed considerable experience to offer our Clients.
