Just a little note , over the past 12months I have had take my dog to the vets on a seemingly regular basis, and yes it has proved an expensive experience as it appears to be every where however but putting that to one side. I feel I have to point out how exceptional the reception staff are , to name but a few , as I am awful with names, Emma and Jodie. They are clearly invested in each loved pet that comes through the door.
They all have an excellent / kind approach to the people who walk through that door. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression!
Priceless !

My cat William was very poorly but, after 2 days of intensive care and superb treatment from Mr Shepherd and his team, he was soon on the mend and is now fine. Mr Shepherd gave me a good estimate of costs prior to treatment, and it wasn't far off when I got the final bill. Libby the practice administrator did all of the liaison with the insurance company. When they were being difficult about payment for William's treatment, principally due to their incorrect interpretation of William's condition, Libby got Mr Shepherd to write to the insurance company again. This did the trick! Overall, the whole team at the practice were caring, and went the extra mile. Thank you!

Despite my parent’s dog being registered locally with another veterinary practice and me ringing during their opening hours expressing concern that the dog needed to be seen urgently, I was declined an appointment. I was left ringing round and Shepherd’s Vets came to the rescue with an Out of Hours appointment at home to sadly put to sleep their dog. The visiting vet and nurse were compassionate and caring and I can’t thank them enough for their support during what was a difficult and heartbreaking position. The only vets locally to do home visits and I will transferring my cats to their care to ensure I don’t have a repeat experience of being declined an appointment in a pets hour of need!

They are not vets. they only care about making money, but they have no empathy and professionalism for saving a dog.
