This was multi million pound apartments that we done all the stone work for , Amazing place and very high quality..
PROBLEM / SOLUTION We removed the old cement render to expose the sandstone because the customers were experiencing dampness through the end wall , we then repointed the entire gable end with traditional lime mortar , The wall is now able to breathe and is bone dry
PROBLEM / SOLUTION The previous owners had painted this cottage green , we had to re-chisel it back to the original stone.. There had been some cement stone repairs which we removed and replaced with stone , The whole front wall was then repointed using traditional lime mortar.
We cut / dressed and installed the stone surround to this small cottage in Aberdour.
From old tattie tiled steps to this amazing transformation.... Blackster sandstone carved and shaped !!

Excellent work of traditional lime pointing

Set in Stone Fife Ltd made an excellent job of the traditional lime pointing of our Victorian house. The chimney was checked and repairs made, as was minor stone repairs and repairs to mastic around windows. Every effort was made to minimise mess and leave the site tidy.
Communication with Harry was excellent and we have no hesitation in recommending this company.

Highly recommended!

Harry has done a great job repointing our two storey sandstone home built in 1880. The results are very pleasing. Not only does the stonework look better, we are confident now that the stone will retain less moisture. Harry is friendly, a good communicator and an excellent stonemason.

house restored to its former glory!

I had a problem with water coming in to the house at attic level. When I contacted Harry, he came quickly to assess the situation. He explained that it was not a new problem but one which had been developing over years. It was obvious that he was knowledgeable and understood old houses (pre-1860). The harling had to come off the walls followed by repointing with lime mortar to dry out the walls. Harry also dealt with the chimneys and other factors as they cropped up to ensure a perfect job. He took pride in his work and I was delighted with the result which protected the fabric of the house but also looked terrific. His work was of the highest standard. Harry is honest, thorough, reliable and a skilled craftsman with great integrity.

Harry has recently completed repointing on my 1860 mill cottage to restore it back to former glory. The great advice from Harry allowed the cottage to be restored maximising the visual appearance of the property and ensuring no future masonry issues.
Would highly recommend Harry who offers friendly, professional service, he treats your property as if it were his own.

Rebuild of Stone Boundary Wall

Harry took the time to come out and explain the job in detail and gave a very competitive price. On the first day of the job, there was an issue with the wall and how much stone was there. Harry dealt with the planning department who agreed with a decrease in the height without planning permission and gave them comfort based on his skills and knowledge. The end product is looking great and Harry did a good job of clearing up as well. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him and I will be using him again for another job.
