Business overview
Serenity Beauty was established in 2008 after training at Champneys College in Aesthetics, and obtaining Diplomas in Swedish and Indian Head massage.
After 35 years of nursing, the time was right to make a career change, but one which still informs my practice as a Beauty Therapist., i.e, the ability to help my clients make choices in their therapy, especially when things go wrong in their lives is really important.
The name Serenity Beauty was chosen to reflect the calming atmosphere of my home-based salon, indeed, my ladies feel very serene after their treatment! They like coming to my salon because they don't feel rushed after their treatment. After their massage or facial, they have 5 minutes rest, then I sit them up and give them a drink and ask them how they feel. That doesn't happen in large health resorts or high street salons, according to my clients, and that is why my salon is considered unique, and a haven from the outside world...come in!!
Learning new treatments and keeping up to date with market trends and CPD - Continuing Professional Development is all important, which includes reading professional articles in trade magazines, which is important for different, sometimes challenging, skin concerns, which I like to address in my facial treatments.

Dear GemmaM, Thank you for leaving a review. Unfortunately I have been unable to respond until now. You visited me because your wellbeing was being compromised by nervous tension and someone recommended massage. You had a consultation, followed by a face, neck and shoulder massage with aromatherapy oil, which I warmed to enhance the benefits. You felt better afterwards and you told me, at your next appointment, that colleagues noticed how much better you looked. You booked an afternoon for your birthday treatments. You then cancelled at short notice; your parents arrived unexpectedly to take you out, I understood but I had to ask for 50% of the treatment cost, which is normal practice. You promised to pay the next week, but it was several months later at your next appointment. You missed an appointment, I made another two, but you didn't appear for those either. Next time you requested an appointment, I explained, politely, the reason for being unable to offer further appointments.
Dear GemmaM-108. Second response regarding text message requesting appointment. I strongly object to being addressed as "Hey". I am a professional lady and my clients treat me accordingly. If they use text messaging, they always begin "Hi Angela, can I make an appointment for..." I explained, in my text message to you, in a polite and professional manner, that I did not like the way your text began, so I consider your review irrelevant. My clients are most sympathetic towards me with regards to this review. Combined with the missed appointments, you are actually unable to visit my salon, it is NOT your choice! Sincerely, Angela Ashdown CIBTAC. (Rtd. RN).
