Bad experience

I have using the bus company for last 1.5years for my child who is travelling from Chelmsford to southend schools.He has been declined to enter the bus this morning due to not having the bus pass.He didn't have his phone with his so had to walk home for about 30 minutes in the rain and dark.I understand it is company policy not to let them in if the bus pass is not available however my kid is travelling every day and if he did show his bus pass yesterday and if he did not have today why this harsh punishment.When calling the office they said they don't have any solutions and ask me if I have any.They do not want to keep admin to handle any of these.My issue is if the kid go lost because they turned them away who is responsible ?
