Shoddy work

1
Failed my mot because of windscreen washer not working so I paid over £100 to get it repaired. It was not repaired because it was not working when I checked a week or so later. So i took it back and then they charged me another £100 to fix it saying that there must have been two things wrong with it and the first £100 only resolved one of the things. Doesn’t sound plausible and sounds like the first £100 went toward replacing something which wasn't the problem.

Guess what? A week later it again stopped working and this time the bonnet open sign was permanently on. I took it to another garage and they diagnosed that Sandy lane had not done a proper job and had also caused the bonnet open light.

I took it back for a third time and they resolved it for no extra cost but the windscreen washer still doesn’t work properly and I paid >£200

They didn’t even apologise for the shoddy work and for the inconvenience of me having to travel three times to them for their mistakes.

Hi, Just like to express my thanks to MD Racing for their extremely helpful attitude when carrying out an MOT test on my Kawasaki ER6n ,performing a minor repair to my bike at very short notice to ensure it passed.

Many thanks regards, Andrew Hartley

Sandy lane garage provided excellent service and advice with a MOT on my Subaru Outback. I would happily recommend them to family and friends in the Walton area.

Cheated out of a lot of money

1
Absolute cheats! I took the bike in for a check and change of gaskets. Before they started work on the bike they stated it would cost approx £300 (I was shocked as another garage had quoted £200 but they weren't a "Ducati specialist", so I said ok). They called me up a week later and said they had done £650 worth of work. I was obviously livid but they said I didn't understand how they worked. In a subsequent call they apologised for what they had done and they were in the wrong but that they had still done the work!!!!!! There was nothing I can do but pay and I am seeking a way, either via dispute resolution or county court to get my money back. My advice go somewhere else more trustworthy

Dear James S, The facts of your visit to our company are as follows; You called us to arrange an inspection on your motorcycle because it was running badly. We diagnosed the fault as badly leaking exhaust header gaskets and incorrectly set up fuelling system. We informed you of these findings. You asked us to carry out a repair. We informed you during the repair, of the difficulties in the repair as your badly corroded exhaust studs could not be removed from the cylinder by the usual means and would require drilling and tapping to repair. You agreed to this. We discussed the increasing bill with you to make you aware. We discounted the bill to help with the unseen extra hours. Upon completion we talked and showed you through the works we had carried out and the pile of rusty old parts we had replaced. I recall that you felt upset at the amount you had to spend on your bike. I am currently unaware of any legal action.
