Authentic Italian Food

San Gennaro serve a variety of Italian dishes at their restaurant.

Established in 1998 our family run business is full of tradition and love for the south Italian style cuisine.

Our pizzas are a true labour of love and passion!

San Gennaro pizzas are made with sourdough using British flour from artisan mill topped with organic plum tomato and fiordilatte mozzarella. We pride ourselves on working with local suppliers and finest producers in Italy.

They are made with English flour from an artisan mill, our dough is slowly risen over 48 hours and topped with organic tomato sauce and fior di latte mozzarella.

Stumbled across this restaurant on the way home last night at 10:20 and decided to get a quick bite to eat. My friend and I shared a Diavola pizza which was INCREDIBLE. Perfect consistency of pizza dough with a tangy tomato sauce beneath a well balanced cheese/meat/chilli ratio. Divine. Brilliant prices, decent sized restaurant. Service is fast, if not a little abrupt. Perhaps that's because we sauntered in ten minutes before closing time!

Will definitely be revisiting to taste the rest of the menu!

I had a really pleasant and authentic Italian meal here recently. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the menu featured a favourite not often featured on menus here - Burrata. It was very reasonably priced and I am looking forward to going again. I'll update my thoughts when I do!

If you are a fan of authentic pizza then you must visit San Gennaro. For me the pizza here is about as good as it gets outside of Naples.

The staff are almost all Italian and you are higly likely to find yourself in the company of other natives at an adjacent table. You can always trust an Italian restaurant full of its own people. The dough is what makes it, cooked in the traditional oven to achieve a slighly chewy and delightfully crisp result. Admittedly the toppings often fail to impress but if you keep it simple and have just a little ham and rocket or something equally simple it wont fail to deliver.

Starters are nothing too special, although i often enjoy the steamed mussels with garlic, chilli and tomato served with some of the faboulous house bread. The g arlic bread is also a must have, made using the famous pizza dough.

Forget about dessert, its like being in a rather average cafe in a touristy part of Italy when they present you with a laminated card with pictures on ice-cream and its all out of packets. Simply have an espresso, maybe a limoncello and wave goodbye to Enzo, the charismatic owner. Ciao.
