Roundhouse have been manufacturers of live steam locomotives for 'G' Scale, SM45 & SM32 (see Scales & Gauges Explained in Technical section) since 1982 and are the major supplier of this type of model in the UK.. Though we are based in Doncaster, England, birthplace of some of the worlds most famous main line steam locomotives, our engines are in operation on garden railways round the world, bringing the sights and sounds that only live steam offers, to thousands of satisfied operators.

I have dealt with the Roundhouse Engineering Co. for over 30 years. I have purchased 4 of their steam locomotives and many accessories, all of which are of a very high standard. What is additionally in their favour is that they market the necessary spares for these locomotives so that the locomotives can be easily refurbished or repaired at home when necessary. The most excellent comment I can truly make, when contacting them, is their careful patience and answers to any of my technical queries. Their friendliness is outstanding. This Company should be used for an example of how to run a successful business, for most UK Companies to follow!
