We had a complex job which involved replacing a wooden sleeper garden wall with a new concrete wall, then to be covered in stone. We also needed an existing patio wall completely covering in stone on all sides. We were quoted 1-2 weeks; in the end it was nearly 3 months before everything was finished, at more than double the budget. This was partly because new problems were found once work had begun (definitely not their fault!) but I had warned them from the start what the problems were likely to be.
So, the good news - the quality of the wall at the end of the job is excellent - really very good. Richard is passionate about getting good results and Jackie is supremely organised.
However I ended up pestering to get things done; often no-one was on-site when things could be done. There was no forward-thinking or planning; labourers stopped turning up, and so on.
RJD is excellent for standard stone/brick work, but anything more complicated pushes them outside their comfort zone.
