Hello. My name is Rick. I am a 39 year old driving instructor, living in Bristol. I have taught all kinds of people to drive…all ages and all abilities, from almost every corner of the Bristol area, and I own the independent driving school, Rick's Driving School Bristol.

I am a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) that trained and worked with BSM for 5 years and instructing for 7 years. RDSB launched in 2010, and in 2012 Zed joined my driving school.

Like myself, Zed trained with BSM, has a really high first time pass rate (over 70%, compared to national average of between 38% and 42%), and teaches modern driving techniques (like eco friendly driving) in a calm and helpful way. Between us we teach manual driving and automatic driving in Bristol and have over 21 years experience. Zed can also teach in Punjabi.

I highly recommend Rick as a driving instructor. Thanks to his exceptional patience and clear explanations, I passed my driving test on the first try! Rick also prepares you thoroughly for the test experience itself. During the test, I felt confident and fully aware of what was happening and how I was being assessed.

Great Instructor!

From the first lesson, Rick made me feel comfortable behind the wheel. He is patient and clear in his instructions. He tailored each lesson to my needs and always provided constructive feedback, which really helped me improve with each lesson. Thanks to his guidance, I passed my driving test on the first try.

If you're looking for a driving instructor who is professional, knowledgeable, and clear, I would highly recommended Rick.

Thoroughly recommend - couldn’t have been more helpful

Rick was a fantastic instructor - he helped me pass with one minor after a first time fail and gave me all the confidence I was lacking before. I picked him based off his positive reviews in the past and he absolutely lived up to the hype. He showed unlimited patience and taught me how to drive effectively as well as pass my test. He was always happy to spend time working on anything I wasn’t totally sure on and made sure I was fully prepared for my test. He’s also a brilliant and interesting guy who was always happy to chat and I thoroughly enjoyed all our lessons. Thanks Rick

Great instructor

Rick made me feel confident for my test and ensured I was able to be test ready in plentiful time. He adapted lessons around what I needed to improve and all lessons were well structured with clear guidance and plans for steadily improving. We openly discussed my progression and I felt comfortable to make mistakes and ask as many questions about my mistakes. Rick made me ready for my test as well as beyond my test with independent driving, I couldn’t recommend him enough!

My experience learning to drive

Started driving with rick back around feb of this year, passed on the 25th of June. He’s a great teacher and helped me gain confidence aswell as teaching me to drive safely on roads. Very nice guy and taught me everything I know about driving
