Regional Contractors

I wouldn’t even give Regional Contractors N.I. One star as they left my back garden with a number of health and safety hazards as they didn’t finish the job after being paid in full. Now my husband and I, two old age pensioners, are left with a complete eyesore, and probably unable to get someone to finish the job. How can the boss sleep at nigh because I’m surely finding it hard after being taken in by Regional Contractors N.I. Keep clear of them, be warned!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Roof replaced only for it to leak in several areas with even light rain causing extensive interior and structural damage to the house.
Refuses to rectify any issues once payment received, refuses to guarantee work carried out, refused to give a proper breakdown of all costs, labour and work carried out, took TWO MONTHS to complete the job with constant stopping and starting.
Now reported to trading standards who are taking this very seriously.
Please be cautious of Ben and his taking advantage of vulnerable people and older people also as I've read in other reviews. Do not under any circumstances pay this contractor until work is complete and to an excellent standard, if you have any issues rest assured once paid he will never be heard from again.
Astounds me that Ben has been trading this long and appears to be unaware of the legalities that protect consumers paying for his services.

Long story short, Regional Contractors NI has taken & ran away with £60000 of my money.

They further tried to get another £31000 off me to not even finish the job they promised they could do.
When I denied, as we had a prior arrangement where final payment was paid upon completion, he decided to walked off site! Leaving me with a half finished nightmare.

A visit from building control revealed that he had never contacted them or had them out for a site visit at any time & that there were numerous issues particularly with the roof & ceilings that need taken down completely to comply with building control regulations

A visit from our Architect revealed that several things were missing from the plans & that the floors in the upper level were all too high and would not match the existing house & this would cost a significant amount to rectify

We have Damp & Mold in the corners of the rooms & they left a literal drain, leaking rain into the downstairs section of the extension.

Quote from Ben after taking payment and only doing some of the job." I couldn't care less about trading standards, courts, police or anything like it".U don't trust me, and therefore I don't trust yous" This after paying a large sum of money. My big mistake. Job left without safety railing, electric cables left exposed and steps in a dangerous state. Sorry we paid him and and gave him the job. Hindsight is a good thing. He has not given business address even after several requests.

Ben and his team have just completely re-landscaped my back garden. Great communication throughout. The team were professional, efficient, hardworking and very tidy. The job wasn't particularly straightforward with a split level garden, curved walls and paving of different sizes. Great care and pride was taken with the work. I am delighted with the result.
