Here at Rebekah's Restoration, we work with paintings, prints and engravings, antique frames, ceramics and sculpture.

The painting restoration will often involve cleaning or varnish removal, re-stretching. Repairing holes or tears in the canvas. Consolidation of cracked or flaking surfaces. Re lining or strip lining, Filling and Re-touching areas of paint loss and varnishing.

We can also clean prints and engravings to remove foxing and yellowing of the paper.

The antique frame restoration will often involve a light clean. Consolidating and Stabilising flaking or loose parts and rebuilding missing areas. The new fills are then colour matched to the existing frame or gilded finish.

If you would like something reframed we can also talk this through and find something to suit.

The ceramic restoration may involve cleaning and removing any previous repairs, removing old rivets. Fixing and securing any broken parts. Missing areas are rebuilt and then colour matched and glazed to the existing ceramics.

Our Kintsugi is another option to repair your broken ceramics. This is an ancient Japanese technique that celebrates the history and repair of the piece by joining the breaks with gold; hére we use a 24 karat gold

We can restore many different materials in sculpture, including wood, plaster, jade, alabaster and marble.

All restoration work is carried out to a very high standard, conserving the artwork, while keeping its antique patina. We use conservation grade materials which are non yellowing and non damaging to your artwork.

The new parts have been colour matched to the existing frame.
This sculpture was falling apart and pieces were loosely hanging from the internal wire structure. She has been consolidated with conservation adhesive. Missing parts have been rebuilt and cracks have been filled. She was then repainted.
Before and After: This vase has been cleaned, the side rebuilt and then coloured to match the existing vase.
Here is an example of the cleaning process of an oil painting. The varnish is carefully removed without disturbing the surface of the paint. The left hand side has been cleaned.
This glass jug has been cleaned and joined together with non yellowing conservation adhesive and a few holes filled to match the existing glass.

Torn painting restoration

5
I contacted Rebekah to repair a very sentimental painting that got damaged. The painting was done by a local artist in Cape Town specifically for my mum. I was heartbroken when it got torn and wasn't sure whether anything could be done to fix it. Enter Rebekah who repaired it so well, you can't see any tear or damage. I am so happy with the result and cannot thank her enough. I have a little piece of my mum; a memory that I can now put up in my home.

Extraordinary and professional Art Restoration & Conservation

5
We moved from the US to the UK and during the move several sculptures were damaged, some in too many pieces to mention. We were heartbroken and realized that we could not fix this ourselves. After some internet search and reading reviews we contacted Rebekah. She responded quickly and very professionally, we received a very reasonable quote and then delivered all the pieces to her when the first lockdown was lifted. Parking was easy and she came down to pick up our boxes which made hand-off easy.

Some time later and before lockdown 2, I picked up the completed sculptures, completely restored! You cannot see that these have been repaired, they look like the day we got them. Every day now and when I walk past the sculptures I smile and am so grateful to Rebekah.

Rebekah's work is complete perfection. She is reliable, trustworthy, and a pleasure to work with. We cannot recommend her enough!

I recently had 3 x vintage, ceramic ornaments restored by Rebekah.
I was absolutely amazed, and in tears, when I got the items back.
I am so, so impressed. There is zero evidence of the previous damage -it is nothing short of magic! Rebekah is also super approachable and prompt on communication should you have any questions or queries. I recommend 100%
