We met Phil when we had an emergency water leak - which he dealt with quickly, calmly and for little cost - and got chatting about the need to have work done on every room in the house. Since then Phil has completed several projects involving work including repairing floor joists, repairing and redirection of under floor plumbing, levelling floors to lay oak flooring with insulation, replacing a kitchen, repairing and decorating interior walls, building and installing wall panelling, constructing floor to ceiling bookcases, insulating and boarding the loft, exterior repairs and decoration, repairing guttering, replacing the outside deck and making surfaces non-slip; with work divided between Phil and his Sons David and Thomas.

The work so far, along with future plans for the rest of the house, involve such a broad skillset - but having seen the quality and breadth of the work - we have no hesitation entrusting future work to Phil and his sons and wholly recommend their services.

Phil is a skilled craftsman who did a great job ripping out our old bathroom and installing a beautiful new one in just over a week. He has the knowledge and experience to work through some challenges that emerged and returned promptly to rectify a minor issue. His son David did a superb job on the tiling. Highly recommended.

Phil Ratcliffe Home Improvements have replaced a shower with a bath and shower screen for us and also installed a new toilet and taps. We are extremely pleased with the result which shows that he is a perfectionist with a lot of careful thought going into solving problems. Not only is he a perfectionist but he and his son, who was working with him, are also easy and pleasant people to work with. The work was all completed in a very reasonable time.

At short notice Phil was extremely helpful in using his extensive experience to advise us on the conversion of a downstairs loo into a wet room. He and David worked hard and meticulously to carefully to finish the job as quickly as possible. They were punctual, reliable and a pleasure to have in the house whilst working, keeping the disruption to a minimum. We are very happy with the end result and highly recommend them.

Great work, excellent results - not just with the job in hand but also rectifying underlying issues that the layman doesn’t see/know.
As someone that is quite demanding I can say that I am very satisfied with the results - and we will be using their services again!
