The gallery and workshop of Pruden and Smith are located on the crossroads at the heart of the Arts and Crafts village of Ditchling. For over 30 years Pruden and Smith’s head designer Rebecca Smith has been creating unique jewellery using recycled gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, and unusual gemstones from all over the world. Her recent collections are inspired by the natural landscape of the Sussex Coast. Pruden and smith offer a jewellery redesign service where you can recycle your old gold and gemstones in a new design. During your visit why not take a tour of their workshop to learn about the materials, techniques, and processes used to create their distinctive work. The ring pictured has two yellow gold bands and a central white gold or platinum strand. It measures 6mm in width at the sides and 8mm at the front. The focal point of this design is a 4.5mm round diamond, GIA-certified 0.25cts.

The Water Bubbles Spring Sapphire Diamond Half Eternity Ring's offset gems and irregular pattern evoke a sense of natural, organic beauty. Each Water Bubbles Spring Sapphire Diamond Half Eternity Ring is handmade in 18ct yellow gold.

Sapphire and Aquamarine 9ct Gold Stacking Ring handmade in 9ct yellow gold. The gemstone sizes range from 3mm to 5.5mm, and have been selected to showcase their brilliance and depth of colour.

Handmade with sustainability in mind, this ring is made from recycled 9 or 18ct yellow, white or rose gold or platinum. The ring features a mix of round brilliant cut and princess cut diamonds, ranging in size from 1.5mm to 3mm.

The Water Bubbles Tanzanite and Diamond Engagement Ring features a scatter of round diamonds ranging in size from 1.2mm to 1.6mm (larger in the 6mm version). The asymmetrical placement of these diamonds adds a playful and eye-catching element to the design.

Two side hammered platinum and 18ct yellow gold bands set with 0.75ct of round diamonds: five 3mm round 0.10ct and ten 0.025mm rounds

This ring is 15mm wide at the front, comprised of 5mm and 6mm white gold side hammered bands with a 3mm yellow gold centre soldered together and is set with 1ct of round diamonds in between the bands.

Two side hammered bands of gold, one white one yellow, set in between with 1.5mm round diamonds. 4mm wide.

A central 1ct round brilliant cut diamond surrounded by six round diamonds (three on each side), all set in 18ct yellow gold and sitting on three round hammered bands that stack together, two outer bands in platinum and an inner band in gold.

Dress Ring handmade in recycled yellow gold with a half carat recycled round brilliant diamond and an 18 mm AAA rough aquamarine gemstone. The metalwork has a rough hammered texture and the bands are 3mm in width. The Diamond and Aquamarine sit on top of the bands and are in bezel settings.

An Unusual Gold Spiky Dress Ring resembling a nest of roots or branches. In 9ct yellow gold, 22mm wide at the front and 8mm high, the spiky strands are made from 3mm round section wire.

Five rough hammered 1.5mm square wire bands stacked together. Two made in 18ct yellow gold set with three 2mm round emeralds in a trefoil arrangement measuring approximately 6mm wide. Three made in silver, with round diamonds set in 18ct yellow gold.

6mm wide, comprised of two 3mm side hammered bands soldered together in platinum and 18ct yellow gold, set with 10 1.5mm round diamonds and five 0.10pt pink sapphires in between the two bands. With a matching 3mm side hammered platinum wedding band.

This ring is an 8mm wide, comprised of two 4mm side hammered bands in platinum and 18ct yellow gold soldered together and set with 12 1.5mm round diamonds.

A 6mm round aquamarine in an 18ct yellow gold taper rubover style setting on a 6mm platinum court style band.

A Bespoke Bangle

Excellent Experience

I contacted Pruden and Smith regarding re-modelling some existing gold jewellery that I never wore. From the initial telephone contact to collecting my new necklace and bangle, everyone involved was professional, helpful and friendly and made the whole process very easy and rewarding.
