Business overview

A family run garden centre that offers friendly, professional advice and top quality products for your home and garden, all year round.

We are set in the heart of Port Sunlight Village on the Wirral, on the old grounds of an open air swimming pool that used to be heated by the Levers factory.

We pride ourselves on being a 'proper' garden centre with a wide selection of gardening products, such as tools, fertilisers, weed killers, clothing & footwear and garden furniture as well as a stunning plant area you can get lost in!

We also have collections of indoor products such as oak furniture, cards and gifts, local books, speciality food and houseplants and pots.

If that isn't enough, our very own Sun Lounge Café is always on hand, serving breakfasts in the morning, homemade daily specials at lunch and a selection of cakes and homemade scones all day everyday!

Just visited the garden centre with my two sons and was promptly turned away because we where a family , I suggested I stay in the car and my two sons go in and turned away again because the girl at the entrance said "you are still a family " .l have been shopping at the centre for many years and will not go there again !! I understand the importance of this pandemic and safety is important (I have just lost my husband and wanted some shopping therapy ) that was ridicules. Total descrimination against families.

I live in Liverpool and my brother in the Wirral. we like to visit the Farmers Market at Rock Ferry, then go to this garden centre for lunch, and then do a walk. my brother had previously gone to considerable trouble to ask the restaurant staff if I would be able to bring my small, well behaved dog in to the courtyard garden. the staff 'went away to ask her manager and came back to say 'the whole of the garden centre is dog friendly'. we thus visited on 9th May and ate outside-with the dog-and at no time did the staff say anything. we visited again on 8th August and at least 4 staff watched us have lunch in the courtyard garden without saying anything. it was as we were about to leave a male staff member came up and said dogs 'were not welcome in any part of the garden centre'. as health and safety rules apply to FOOD PREPERATION AREAS ONLY I could not understand this. what is the harm of a well behaved quiet dog in an open area? and isn't it a bit sneaky to wait until we have eaten and paid for lunch before telling us? needless to say we will not be visiting again. perhaps the centre should learn from the garden centre at Aigburth Hall Drive in Liverpool - where you can take your dog with you when you look at plants, and has certain café tables (away from other diners) specifically for dogs and their owners. the centre is very busy, all the dogs are well behaved, and it now has a well established place in the community.
