Boiler condition survey left central heating system inoperable!
1
Heating engineer visited to conduct a boiler condition survey and left it in an inoperable state!
I received a call from my distressed wife as the heating had not come on and there was no hot water to bathe our 23 month old son. The engineer maintained that it was nothing that he had done and that it was coincidence that a fault must have occurred!
I returned home immediately to check. I could see that the ‘magic eye’ was not in place, the port where it should be located was open and uncovered and the cable led down to the floor ! I simply visually checked that the glass sensor had not been damaged, the face was not obscured with soot , so simply placed it back into the port until it clicked home (it could not have ‘fallen out’ accidentally, pressed the reset button on the boiler and within seconds the boiler fired up, continued working as it had done before and provided hot water and heating.
I am appalled at the lack of professionalism shown by the engineer.
