Pimlico Plumbers

Avoid.
Paid in advance for a completely overpriced quote. The engineer came and had no idea what he was coming for. Left and sent us back a £2000 quote. I found someone else to do it for £100. Avoid at all cost.

We have used Pimlico Plumbers for years and always been happy with the experience. They are very expensive, but we have always found them to be quick, responsive and effective. In November 2023 however we had a terrible experience. We identified a leaking valve which the engineer came to fix, following which the engineer strongly suggested that we have all our old copper piping replaced. He said this would be a full day job and could return the following day. As we live in an old Victorian house we agreed. The next day he turned up at 9:30am and completed the job at 1:30pm during which time he repeatedly went outside to take a break in his van. When billing us we questioned the full day rate (£850 + VAT + parts) as he has only worked for four hours (with multiple breaks). As the hourly rate is £120 + VAT we asked to pay this rate. Hourly charging racket.
Toilet still leaking, 1 month and 3 visits later.
Poor customer service for refunds.

Call centre refusing to refund until plumber visits for a fourth time.

Plumber was chatting to keep company for half an hour at one point. Conflict of interest he gets paid more for slow work.

Complained to Pimlico call centre about this and was told to confront the plumber directly.
