Good food...but....
This place gets very busy and I've heard sometimes its difficult to even get a reservation a week in advance.

I went here on Valentines day with my girlfriend. Her boss had a reservation and cancelled so we took his place.

Our reservation wasnt until 9.30pm and so my appetite wasnt all there. We ordered some pizzas which were really good. I think they are cooked in a genuine clay oven.

It did feel like you were on a conveyor belt and they were rushing you a little. Perhaps they were tyring to get the next booking in, but it just felt a bit like we were being ushered out the door.

Perhaps go during the week when its not so busy. I would recommend on that basis as I did enjoy the food.

Pricey but worth it
For those willing to pay that little bit extra for excellent food, Piccolino comes highly recommended. The restaurant is highly cosmopolitan, from the design to the clientele, with a lively, dynamic atmosphere. Expect to pay an average of £13 for a main course, while pizzas are around £8. Wine starts at slightly under £14 although half bottles are available. With amazing food (save room for dessert) and service, Piccolino is definitely worth trying out - if your budget allows. Piccolino has restaurants in the City Centre and Didsbury.

Piccolino
Was extremely busy when I visited, this made the service very slow and the food was only average. The staff were helpful and friendly, perhaps I went on a bad day. Will give it another try.

Pasta/Pizza
Can be the perfect place 4 a quiet romantic meal, but can also be busy as hell. Food is good and reasonably priced. Service friendly with a family feel.
